Our Vision

UNU-IIST will become the pre-eminent academic and research center and a valued resource within the United Nations for enabling and promoting the use of information and communication technology to support a more sustainable development. It aims to be an intellectual focal point that attracts the top, most innovative minds in research and teaching, and trains students to become leaders of change.

Our Mission

The Institute's mission is to further the development and application of information and communication technology to address the pressing global challenges of sustainable development that are the concern of the United Nations, its Peoples and Members States through education, research, capacity development, and policy support.
