rCOS Method Selected to Receive Award in Natural Science

The Science and Technology Development Fund of Macao SAR released the preliminary results of its 2012 Macau Science and Technology Awards.  UNU-IIST is proud that the research conducted in the institute, in collaboration with University of Macau, on the rCOS method has been selected to receive the Second Place Award in the Natural Science category with the project “rCOS: a formal model-driven engineering method for component-based software”.  Eleven jury members including renowned scientists from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, submitted the suggested award list to the Macau Chief Executive on 22 June 2012. A presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place in October.

The Science and Technology Awards aim to reward people who make contribution to local scientific and technological activities, inspire the enthusiasm and creativity of local scientists and technologists, and accelerate the development of scientific and technological undertakings in Macao.  This is the first time such awards are given in Macao.
